Despite the long wait and planning, the sleeping warrior was our host for a number of days. And i can attest that the stay was good. A great hotel consisting of a lodge and camp

The name apparently originates from a nearby hill which from one side looks like the face of a warrior. Do not ask me how but i tried to look at it from how it was being described and i could only form a face but not the warrior

We were hosted on Cordon Bleu, one of the separate accommodation overlooking the regions around the lodge. i tell you, the view is absolutely fantastic

Each room is named according to the birds which have been nesting therein. The other different rooms could be seen from afar giving great privacy for relaxation and reading. I think Cordon Bleu had the best view

The inside was a marvel. Once inside, you did not want to leave. The spacious room, the bed, the lounge not to mention the tub and shower; someone had taken time to think about me. No wonder our breakfast was always after 10 o’clock.

Apart from the cold in the morning, we just wanted to stay in. The hosts were very friendly and our guide Henry was always willing to share stories about the place. He is a birdwatcher also which made it feel like home #KasuniePhotography

Kasunie Photography Artist Statement

I didn’t set out to be a photographer really…It just happened. I have always had a fascination of art and nature, often saw things in a way that many other people did not and i always felt like i needed to justify what i was saying. The camera made that easier and the images can speak for themselves #Blessing

I try to bring forth the beauty in each moment the best way i can, give a chance to an audience to see my story as i showcase His glory. I spend a lot of time reflecting on how things should be, what i could do to change somethings yet still bring forth life on how i feel each beautiful moment should be. #JustaView But at the end of the day, His story matters most #Reason

Kasunie Photography purposely came up as a result of a mix in the love of birds and the lens. A passion that started while at a young age and through time i have nurtured it with travel and #Birdwatching activities. Being out there and wanting to show you what beauty lies therein, #KasuniePhotography was inspired.

All the images shown in the site are unique, real and present a moment in time that one could stare at and see a creation that even God saw was beautiful. (Genesis 1:20 – 21) #Storyline

There is so much in beauty in this world to #Explore that its only wise to carry a good #DSLR to enjoy it all. Shared moments are relived, cultures are preserved, relationships are built and hearty emotions are expressed over and over again. #Travel and expirience new ideas, #Food, #Sports, #Events. It is only wise to share the view from my heart via art in #Photography

These things i love that add joy to the soul, that i dont mind doing over and over again. I believe there is soo much life out there still to be explored, enjoyed and most of all #shared. #LifeisBeautiful

A stream Beyond Kiganjo

The other weekend while pursuing one of my other passions, #BikeStories in Kiganjo i came a cross a small quiet stream adjacent the closed road. I followed a small narrow foot path used by the locals that led me to bird haven

I can say i was amazed by the wide array of birds that where around. Considering the time with the sun overhead, Weavers, bishops, Waxbills et al were in display

Some were having a bath or can you say, cooling off in the mid day sun and others where busy quench their thirst. For the first time, i was able to spot three unique birds to me at the same place and this brought excitement

I must say, this it was a lucky day for me to spot the red collared widow bird male displaying his red bright colors and a long tail feather. He was just all over, i should have found his dancing ground to culminate my great day

Also herein i saw a yellow bird that seemed to be a canary or close to an African Citril. I nearly forgot the reason for going to Kiganjo. The bikes #MachoniMwangu do check see as well as they had brought me to Kiganjo this day
