Greater Flamingo

The tall slender wading birds of shallow saline or alkaline waters characterized by long sinuous necks seen in the image bend backwards as if to get inside the back. The bird seems to be scratching or is it cleaning self or removing an irritation. Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus (ruber) roseus) is a very interesting bird and has made Lake Nakuru an IBA site #Kasunie
